ABOUT US

Northeast Oklahoma Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit and member owned financial institution.  The difference between the Credit Union and a bank is simple.  The difference is membership; excess earnings are returned to our members in the form of better service, lower interest rates for loans, higher yields on savings and investment accounts, and by adding new financial products and services.  You are invited to take part of the many benefits of Credit Union Membership.

Our Mission Statement

Northeast Oklahoma Federal Credit Union is a member owned financial cooperative existing for the purpose of providing financial services to meet member needs while maintaining financial stability.

Membership Is

     The Credit Union Difference

Credit Unions are unique in the financial world.  We are not banks.  We are not like any other financial provider.  What makes us different? Membership is the key.

We exist to serve our members

Credit Unions are nonprofit.  We exist to serve our members, not to make money.  That's why we can provide quality services at affordable prices. Our members view credit unions as a cost conscious alternative to the profit driven financial industry.

We're owned by our members

Credit Unions are co-ops, owned by members and operated in their common interest. We have no outside stockholders or investors, so our members alone benefit from our financial success.

USA PATRIOT ACT

Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account or a new service.  These new procedures are designed to prevent crimes, such as identify theft and account fraud that terrorist use to finance their operations against the United States and it's citizens.  These extra security precautions help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities.

HERE IS WHAT NEO FCU IS DOING:

When an account is opened, we will ask to see your driver's license or other identifying government issued documents.  This required verification might be inconvenient for some but a strong deterrent for terrorist and their criminals.  We will only use this information for purposes of complying with the law.  Your privacy is our top concern and we will respect and protect it.  This is one way we can fight the war on terrorism.  Thanks for your cooperation.

We're controlled by our members

Members control us. Each year, they elect from their own ranks a volunteer board of directors that guide the operation of the credit union based on member needs. Every member has a say in how we are run. This volunteer leadership allows us to control costs and pass the savings along to our members.

We're responsive to our members' Needs

Day to day, we provide members with services that aren't always available elsewhere. We frequently make special provisions to help members through layoffs and other financial hardship. We also provide services to members who otherwise might not have access to them.

We pool our resources to benefit members

Our members deposit money with us so that fellow members can borrow when they need to. Unlike some financial institutions, credit unions return those member deposits to the citizens of the communities from which they are drawn. In an industry know to be highly competitive, credit unions work cooperatively, pooling resources for the research and development of cost effective services that benefit all credit union members.
